Abbott Diabetes Care

A series of design works were commissioned for Abbot Diabetes Care, a leading blood glucose meter provider, during 2007 and 2008.

Working within a team environment, tasks included many full-page advertisements, packaging material, promotional and training DVDs. Three promotional websites were created for each meter, but are now no longer online.

All design work was strictly required to adhere to their corporate style guides and work being produced by their other divisions.

Declear

This was a personal project produced in 2006. De-Clear was a freely distributed ‘zine’ with a focus on the current war in Iraq providing a view to promote user interaction, views and opinions. Supplied with a permanent marker, readers had the opportunity to deface or alter the outcome.

De-Clear was used as an opportunity to develop different spreads related to the content with an underlying grid structure rather than fitting to a preconceived layout. Experimentation with different stock such as recycled paper and wallpaper to portray the message of each article was also used.

Despite being completed some time ago, I decided to include De-Clear due to the freedom provided when designing work for yourself, or your own chosen audience. Additional spreads can be seen here, here and why not, one more here.

Squeeze Juice Bars

Squeeze Juice Bars have several locations throughout Cyprus, including food courts and prime water park locations. Squeeze custom built several modified bikes, designed with inbuilt freezers, to travel along the beach distributing juice to consumers. These bikes were also used for promotional activities available to be hired for parties and events.

These three modified juice bikes were designed to be as bright and bold as possible; they required contact details to be visible on all sides. Slogans developed by their design agency in Cyprus were also incorporated into the design.

Once printed and applied in Australia, they were then shipped to Cyprus to travel around and promote their store locations. Designed and developed in 2007.

Nestle Pump

Nestle required a training video, case and DVD to be developed for their new feeding pump. The video runs just short of an hour as an account executive explains the process of using, cleaning and maintaining the Compat Pump.

Targeted at hospital staff, this simple video was created on a small budget and tight time frame. The case design needed to be simple and comply with their branding as per their style guide.

Responsible for editing, animation and authoring of the training video itself, I also produced both front and back covers, an insert and DVD design. This project was completed in 2007.

Gastroenterological Society of Australia

The Gastroenterological Society of Australia provides health professionals, and their patients, free information and resources for many of the common gastroenterological conditions.

Production of around twenty information brochures were designed for a range of gastroenterological conditions and freely distributed throughout Australia. A4 versions were made available from their website.

All brochures were printed two colour and double sided. I provided both the design and the illustrationson each of the brochures for this project.
